Company Profile

Great Southern incorporates three companies, Great Southern Building Supplies, Great Southern Kitchens and Great Southern Joinery. We have operated from our current site in Bosworth Road Bairnsdale for in excess of 24 years.

Great Southern Kitchens and Great Southern Joinery have fulfilled many contracts, both in Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley, including, Aged Care Facilities in Bairnsdale, Paynesville, Lakes Entrance, Sale & Moe, schools, both state and private, in Sale, The Latrobe Valley, Bairnsdale, Mount Hotham, Omeo, Paynesville and Lakes Entrance and hospitals in The Latrobe Valley, Bairnsdale and Omeo. Contracts for Clubs and Hotels in Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale and Paynesville have also been completed. In October 2004 we completed a contract to supply windows, doors and partitions, including installation, for the Department of Natural Resources and Environments new offices located in Bairnsdale. We take great pride in all of our contracts being fulfilled in a timely manner and that the quality of our work is extremely high, resulting in very few call backs for maintenance purposes.

We have in place policies and procedures regarding environmental and waste issues. We recycle all glass and metal waste. Where ever possible timber and board off cuts are donated to local schools and charities for their use. Chemicals are used as little as possible and chemical waste is disposed of in the manner recommended by the supplying company and East Gippsland Shires policies and procedures. Water tanks are installed at our workplace to collect rain water and this water is used by employees wherever possible rather than depleting the local water reserves. In addition we also recycle all saw dust extracted through our dust extraction system.    

All of our companies comply with a quality assurance program. The policy “Your Satisfaction is Our Guarantee” reflects this within our company. All goods are inspected prior to leaving the factory and once again after installation. We provide a twelve month warrantee with all of our products with an extended guarantee given for our workmanship. We pride ourselves on the quality of our products and have many satisfied customers both in the industrial and private sectors.
